Sportsmanship
Karate USA's coaches are dedicated to maintaining the high quality of sportsmanship we are known for. Our students and team members are expected to show good sportsmanship at all times at all events.
Role of the Parent
Please do not reprimand your child for anything that happens during practice or competition. As the parent of a Team KUSA athlete, your general role should be to encourage and support. Our coaching staff will handle all other aspects of your child's training and competition.
Coaching
Parents should leave the coaching and training up to Team KUSA coaches and staff. Please refrain from giving your child tips or strategies as they may conflict with what our coaching staff is telling them.
Becoming an Official Member
Students will be considered an official member and have their profile added to the team website when they have: attended three sanctioned tournaments with the team OR place first in a sanctioned State or Regional competition or Jr. Olympics OR place first or second at Nationals or USAT equivalent.
Non-Supported Events
It is against our policy and general martial arts protocol for our athletes to attend tournaments our team has decided not to attend, train with other schools/teams/instructors, or any similar activities without express permission from the Team KUSA coaching staff. At no point should any members of Team KUSA attempt to join another team or school.
